Abstract

This research is aimed to investigate how students perceive the online learning implementation in English Education program. There are six elements of online learning implementation, Planning & Promotion, Education, Support, Training, Encouragement, and Reward & Recognition which (PESTER) (Jones, 2008). In this research, the students perceptions were analyzed based on 5 from those 6 elements. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The population is English Education students. The result shows various perceptions of students. Most of students perceive the online learning positively which means that they perceive: 1) the implementation of online learning is well planned, 2) the lecturers are competent in implementing the online learning, 3) the online learning platforms provided makes them feel comfortable, and 4) the implementation of online learning encourages them to learn practical virtual interaction, to have discussion, and to read more. Besides, some of students have negative perceptions about those things. Therefore, it is needed to investigate more why students perceive the online learning implementation negatively and the way to overcome the issues.
