Abstract

Water is a very important resource for living things on earth. It can be called a source of life, where there is water, there is life there. Utilization of this plan is expected to provide information that analyzes the capacity of the holding pond in an effort to prevent overflow of rainwater from the drainage in the future. Hydrology is the science that studies the water cycle in nature. In particular, hydrology is defined as the study of the occurrence of water systems above the surface and below the surface of the soil. On its way to the sea some of it will experience evaporation. Some of the water that enters the soil will come out again to the river which is called intra-flow.interflow). Some will continue to go down and enter the groundwater which will come out little by little and enter the river as an underground flow (groundwater flow). The design peak flood discharge that inundated the Tegal Besar Palace Housing was obtained from the calculation results of 1438.19 m3/s with a return period of 10 years. According to the results of the conditions in the field, the drainage capacity of the Tegal Besar Jember Palace Housing has changed dimensions in several channels because they cannot accommodate water discharge. Steps that can be taken to overcome flood inundation points in the research area are by using a holding pond. Storage pond 1 with a time of 260 minutes using a suction pump with a capacity of 10 m3/second second then the volume of the holding pond is 156275.25m3. Reservoir pond 2 with a time of 260 minutes using a suction pump with a pump capacity of 2 m3/second, then the volume of the retention pond is 23731.68m3.
