Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of the General Election Commission of Banyuwangi Regency in Minimizing Abstentions in the 2024 General Election. Using strategy theory according to Gregory G.Dess and Alex Miller in Saladin (2003) which divides strategy into two forms, namely: first strategy is desired and second realized strategy. This study uses qualitative research methods, to determine the informant researchers collect data through observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data the author uses triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate the desired strategy, namely the target of socialization, namely the marginalized, remote areas, etc. One of the drivers of socialization is the main budget. The strategy was realized, namely the strategy that had been prepared by the Banyuwangi Regency KPU to reduce the number of abstentions in the 2024 election to run smoothly and achieve maximum results. The conclusion of the Banyuwangi Regency General Election Commission strategy in reducing the number of abstentions in the 2024 election has been going well, although it is still lacking and the KPU will make the best of this strategy.
