Abstract

Motivation is defined as efforts that encourage someone to take the desired action. Job satisfaction is defined as a positive feeling about a job, which is the impact or evaluation result of various aspects of the job. Motivation and job satisfaction are thought to influence the performance of rice farmers in Jember Regency. Performance in this study is measured by productivity. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out whether motivation and job satisfaction influence farmer performance. The method used uses a correlational descriptive method for primary and secondary data. Sampling was carried out using Cluster and Accidental Sampling with a total sample of 80 respondents. The data was analyzed and tested using the path analysis test method. The results show that: (1) The average level of motivation of rice farmers in Jember Regency is 2.58 or in the low category, (2) The average level of job satisfaction for rice farmers in Jember Regency is 3.06 or in the quite high category. (3) Together, motivation and job satisfaction have a significant effect on productivity. Partially, motivation has a real effect on productivity of 12.3% and job satisfaction has an insignificant effect on productivity of 12.8%.
