Abstract
Vocabulary mastery is one of the most important aspects of learning English. A strong vocabulary allows learners to understand and engage with a variety of texts, communicate more effectively, and express ideas with greater precision and nuance. However, there are still many students who find vocabulary as one of the problems that they face when they want to learn English. Therefore, it is important to implement Educandy Application to Improve Students' Vocabulary Mastery. In this research the problem is “how can the Educandy app be used during English language instruction to improve students’ vocabulary matery?” and the objective of this research referring to the research problem is to find out how the implementation of Educandy Aplication can improve students’ Vocabulary by Junior High School Students. Based on the research problem and the relevant theory, the hypothesis of the research is the use of Educandy application can improve students’ vocabulary mastery by incorporating Educandy into English language instruction. The design of this research is classroom action research. The research subject is VII students of SMP Plus Raudlatut Tholabah for the 2023-2024 academic year, consisting of 18 students. The data are collected using vocabulary tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires. The implementation of Educandy in the classroom using the school's Chromebook for two cycles. During classroom learning after the discussion of the material, students are given time to do quizzes through the Educandy application with several existing features. The success criteria in this study was an average score of 85. Learning media increases students' vocabulary mastery in two cycles. In cycle 1, the average score obtained by students is 84 and in cycle 2, the average score obtained is 93. Educandy learning media has been proven to increase vocabulary mastery. In conclusion, the use of the Educandy application can improve students' vocabulary mastery, by implementing the features in the Educandy application such as Match-up, Multiple Choice, Noughts & Crosses and Crosswords during classroom learning.
