Abstract

GERONTIC NURSING CARE BY NY.J WITH HYPERTENSION AT THE PUBCLIC HEALTH CENTER OF TEMPUREJO JEMBER

ABSTRACT
Elderly is a person or group whose age has experienced physical, biological, social and psychological changes. This change will affect all aspects of life, including his health (Dewi, 2014). Increasing life expectancy will increasingly complicate diseases suffered by the elderly, including hypertension more often. Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 120 mmHg and diastolic pressure of more than 120 mmHg. Hypertension often also causes changes in blood vessels that can result in higher blood pressure (Mutaqqin, 2014).
The purpose of this paper is to apply the nursing care to the elderly with hypertension with the assessment, and then formulate a nursing diagnosis, determine the appropriate action plan and apply directly, and do an evaluation. The data were collected by interview, observation, documentation study and literature study. The data obtained was analyzed using the case study method.
The result is after nursing care to elderly with hypertension during 4x visit is blood pressure within normal limits, pulse is within normal limits, reduced pain, number of hours of sleep within normal limits, the risk of falling is reduced.
