Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) is a baby (neonates) who was born with weight less than 2500 grams, or up to 2499 grams (Nining, 2016). A baby with low birth weight According to Lestari, Alif and Arit (2014) in (Mahardika, Fitrah, & Satus, 2017) explains a baby with low birth weight have special needs such as the need to maintain the warmth of the body temperature in order to survive a life, disruption to the nutritional needs, abd also the risk of infection is very high. The purpose of this paper is to apply the nursing care to clients with low birth weight with the assessment, and then formulate a nursing diagnosis, determine the appropriate action plan and apply directly, and do an evaluation. The data were collected by interview, observation, documentation study and literature study. The data obtained was analyzed using the case study method.
