Abstract

Keyword: Intrpersonal Communication, Teacher, Languange Use and Speaking Ability, Deaf Students. Deaf students have complex learning impairments and direct consequences on language use and communication skills. This situation makes communication of the deaf students become ineffective and their ability to interact socially is very limited. The location of this study in Branjangan Street No.1 Patrang, Jember. This study used qualitative descriptive method and the data collection is done by using observation, interview, and documentation. Interpersonal communication of the teacher has positive impact to develop the ability of language use and communication of the deaf students if using 5 general quality such as openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, equality. Education background of the teacher, job experience, and the ability of language use and communication skills influence the teacher to develop the ability of language use and communication skills of deaf students. Factor that influence the development of students there are 3 aspects is media and learning tools, family support, their environment are influence to develop language use and communication skills pf the deaf students.
