Abstract

Tanah merupakan material dasar yang sangat penting karena merupakan dasar dimana struktur akan didirikan seperti pondasi bangunan, jalan raya, bendungan, tanggul dan lain-lain. Tanah lempung ekspansif yang sering menimbulkan masalh terhadap kontuksi si[il, karena padasaat tanah menyerap air maka kembang susut tanah tersebut akan tinggi, memiliki daya dukung yang rendah, dan plastisitas yang tinggi. Daya dukung yang dimiliki tanah tergantung dari jenis tanah dan sifat-sifat tanah. Seperti di Jalan Raya Pantura km 162 Surabaya, 32 Situbondo, 6 Besuki, Desa Silomukti, Kecamatan Mlandingan, Kabupaten SITUBONDO, Karena kemungkinan tanah dasar untuk membuat jalan bersifat kohesif dan memiliki kembang susut yang tinggi yang dapat menyebabkan tanah menjadi bergelombang dan retak-retak, akibat dari tanah yang ekpansif dan terpengaruh dari beban truk besar yang melintasi jalan tersebut. Ada beberapa macam bahan stabilisator yang bisa digunakan dalam proses stabilitas tanah ini, untuk penelitian ini tentang stabilitas tanah dengan bahan campuran yang akan di gunakan adalah abu sekam padi. dengan penambahan sebesar 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15% terhadap berat kering tanah lempung ekspansif. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan gam baran terhadap ketekteristik dari tanah lempung ekspansif dan cara memperbaikinya. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh nilai IP sebesar 25,09% , potensi pengembangannya yang temasuk tinggi. Setelan penambahan campruran nilai IP semakin turun dan nilai CBR design di peroleh 8% meningkat menjadi 28,2%. Kata kunci : Tanah Lempung Ekspansif, Abu Sekam Padi, IP, CBR ABSTRACT Soil is a very important basic material because it is the basis on which structures will be erected such as building foundations, roads, dams, embankments and others. Expansive clay soils often cause problems with si [il] construction, because when the soil absorbs water, the soil shrinkage will be high, have low bearing capacity, and high plasticity. The bearing capacity of the soil depends on the type of soil and the properties of the soil. For example on Jalan Raya Pantura km 162 Surabaya, 32 Situbondo, 6 Besuki, Silomukti Village, Mlandingan District, SITUBONDO Regency, because the subgrade for making the road is likely to be cohesive and has high shrinkage which can cause the ground to become bumpy and cracked, the result of expansive soil and affected by the load of large trucks crossing the road. There are several types of stabilizers that can be used in this soil stability process, for this research on soil stability with the mixture that will be used is rice husk ash. with the addition of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% to the dry weight of expansive clay. From this research, it is expected to provide an overview of the characteristics of expansive clay and how to improve it. From this research, it is obtained that the IP value is 25.09%, the potential for development is high. The setting for the addition of the mix-in value of IP decreases and the CBR design value is obtained 8%, increasing to 28.2%. Key words : Expansive Clay, Rice Husk Ash, IP, CBR.
