Abstract
Parenting pattern translates as the description of attitude and behavior of parents and children in interacting and communicating during the parenting activities. This research employs cross-sectional correlational design, which illustrates the correlation between parenting pattern and the typeof personality of pre-school kids conducted once The population of this research is the parents who have pre-school kids, numbering 58 respondents. The sample of this research is taken using purposive sampling technique. There are two variables in this research, namely independent variable (parents’ parenting pattern) and dependent variable (the typeof personality of pre-school kids). Data collection is performed using questionnaire extension. Data is processessed using Spearman Rank Testing. Results of the research reveal that 53 (91,4%) respondents employ democratic parenting, while 5 (8,6%) respondents employ permissive parenting. Meanwhile, there are 40 (69%) respondents who employ democratic parenting with personality type B , whereas respondents who employ permissive parenting with personality type A are 4 (6,9%) individuals. The data processing result using Spearman Rank Test generates the p value of 0,030 which means that H1 is accepted. The recommendation of this research states that the teachers at Dewi Masithoh Kindergarten Jombang Jember Regency conduct sharing session to help provide clearer knowledge regarding the parenting pattern an the impact to the kids, respectively.
