English is very important to be learned because English is an international language. There are four language skills which have to be mastered, they are writing, listening, reading, and speaking. In speaking there are some component of grammar pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary. This study focuses on the research problem: 1 what are the problem faced by Thai student in speaking English skill at universitas Muhammadiyah Jember 2 How do Thai student solve their problems in speaking English skill. The research used descriptive Qualitative design and the instrument used in this study that was interview. The researcher took five Thai student of English department academic year 2017-2021 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember as the subject of research. The result of this research showed that there is some problem faced by Thai students in learning speaking. Based on the result of interview, there are two problems: linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors. Five Thai students faced linguistic problems include less of vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Non-linguistic problems in clued students, teacher, material, facility, motivation and method. The ways to solve their problems are finding the appropriate way in speaking English skill, making a note and create speaking opportunity.
