This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of slips of the tongue in spontaneous conversations on the Podhub #CloseTheDoor podcast on YouTube using a psycholinguistic approach. The
main focus is on identifying the types of slips of the tongue, with additional notes on their causes. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with observation and note-taking techniques. The findings reveal two main categories of slips of the tongue. The first is selection slips, including semantic slips and malapropism. Semantic slips occur when words from the same semantic field are mistakenly selected, while malapropism arises from phonological similarity. The second is assembling slips, consisting of anticipation, transposition, and perseveration. Anticipation occurs when a sound appears too early, transposition involves exchanging the position of sounds or syllables, and perseveration is marked by the repetition of a previous sound. Contributing factors include conversational spontaneity, semantic proximity, phonological resemblance, and cognitive pressure. These findings confirm that slips of the tongue are systematic phenomena reflecting the mechanisms of spoken language production in digital communication.
