Acupuncture is a kind of medical treatments applied a puncture technique on the particular spots to treat the disease. The treatment influences the reflex system, autonomic nerve, neuroendocrine, neurohumoral, and central nerve system which will stimulate the balance of yin and yang. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of acupuncture therapy toward changes in blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. It’s a pre experimental research using 73 the population are. There were 40 respondents obtained with quota sampling technicque. The data collected through three times of treatment. Wilcoxon Range test show α =0,05 p value 0.00 for systolic is and 0.003 diastolic is. thus, it could be concluded that there was a significant effect of acupuncture treatment with changes in blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Based on the study result, acupuncture can be used as one of complementary treatment for hypertension.
