Abstract
Background: Fractures or fractures in the continuity of the bone structure are still a major problem in the health sector. One of the nursing problems that arise from fracture cases is acute pain caused by bone discontinuities. Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience that is associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or describes the conditions under which the damage occurred. Non-pharmacological pain management can minimize the side effects of giving analgesics. Several non-pharmacological techniques for managing pain are recommended guided imaginary. Objective: To carry out guided imaginary interventions in patients who have close fractures of the femur and close fractures of the humerus with problems treating acute pain in the chronology room of RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. Methods: The type of research used is a case study. The case study that is the subject of this research is to explore the effectiveness of guided imaginary intervention to reduce pain levels in fracture patients. Results: Based on the evaluation of acute pain. After being given guided imaginary action, the client's ability to perform non-pharmacological techniques is very good. The family who takes care of the client is also expected to be able to assist the client in doing one of the guided imaginary distraction techniques. The client also seems calmer and the client's pain scale has decreased to 3 NRS. Conclusion: Guided imaginary can be used as a non-pharmacological technique that can be applied to reduce pain scale in fracture patients. Guided imagery emphasizes that the client imagines things that are comfortable and relaxing. The use of guided imagery cannot focus on many things at once, therefore the client must imagine a very strong and pleasant imagination. Keywords: Close Fracture, Acute Pain, Guided Imaginary
