Abstract

Dari sistem transmisi itu sendiri terdapat komponen utama seperti roda gigi , poros,
gearbox dan motor sebagai penggerak. Sprocket drive memiliki fungsi untuk
meneruskan kecepatan, daya atau torsi. Pada saat ini, banyak beredar komponen
sprocket drive kendaraan imitasi yang di jual dengan harga relatif lebih murah dari
produk original. Tidak banyak juga yang mengerti cara membedakan produk yang
original dan imitasi.Tetapi terdapat salah satu cara untuk merubah sifat fisis dan
mekanis tersebut yaitu dengan cara memberi perlakuan heat treatment pada logam
dan di dinginkan secara mendadak quencing dengan media pendingin berupa
fluida.Berdasarkan pengaplikasiannya, standar nilai kekerasan sprocket yang
diperlukan berkisar antara 13-45 HRC setelah diberi perlakuan panas. Perlakuan
hardening dan quenching menggunkan oli SAE berpengaruh pada tingkat kekerasan
suatu baja. Dari penelitian ini dapat diketahui kekerasan terbesar terdapat pada
spesimen 4 yang diberi perlakuan panas dan quenching menggunakan oli SAE 40W
dengan nilai kekerasan rata - rata 41,5 HRC. Sedangkan kekerasan terendah
terdapat pada spesimen 2 yang di beri perlakuan panas dan quenching
menggunakan oli SAE 10W dengan nilai kekerasan rata – rata 20,2 HRC. Pada
spesimen 1 yang tidak diberi perlakuan panas dan quenching memiliki nilai
kekerasan rata - rata 9,2 HRC.

Abstract
From the transmission system itself there are main components such as gears,
shafts, gearboxes and motors as drives. The drive sprocket has the function of
transmitting speed, power or torque. Not many also understand how to distinguish
between original and imitation products. However, there is one way to change the
physical and mechanical properties, namely by giving heat treatment to the metal
and suddenly quenching it with a cooling medium in the form of a fluid. Based on
its application, the standard the required sprocket hardness value ranges from 13-
45 HRC after being heat treated. Hardening and quenching treatment using SAE
oil affects the hardness level of a steel. From this study it can be seen that the
greatest hardness is found in specimen 4 which was heat treated and quenched
using SAE 40W oil with an average hardness value of 41.5 HRC. While the lowest
hardness was found in specimen 2 which was heat treated and quenched using SAE
10W oil with an average hardness value of 20.2 HRC. In specimen 1 which was not
given heat treatment and quenching it had an average hardness value of 9.2 H
