Abstract
Abstract The world is now realizing the importance of maintaining mental health. This started with the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in regional isolation globally, causing work to pile up at home, not in offices or other institutions. This awareness has continued to be maintained until now. Mental health, which is no less important to maintain, includes the mental health of elementary school-age children as well. Through this research, the author tries to explain how the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at Muhammadiyah 1 Jember Elementary School are necessary to maintain the stability of the mental health of their students. The PAI teacher not only carries out his obligations as a teacher but also instills Islamic values in school activities. The purpose of this study is to reveal the role and efforts of PAI teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember in maintaining the stability of students' mental health. This is field research; this study describes the results through data obtained from observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study state that PAI teachers act as mu'allim, murobbi, murshid, educators, trainers, communicators, and consultants, as well as role models for their students, so that their mental health stability can be properly maintained. Keywords: PAI Teachers; Mental Health; SD Muhammadiyah Abstrak Dunia kini menyadari pentingnya menjaga kesehatan mental. Hal ini bermula dari pandemi covid-19 yang mengakibatkan isolasi wilayah secara global, menjadikan pekerjaan-pekerjaan menumpuk di rumah, bukan di kantor ataupun lembaga lainnya. Kesadaran ini terus terpelihara hingga sekarang. Kesehatan mental yang tak kalah penting untuk dijaga di antaranya adalah kesehatan mental anak usia sekolah dasar pula. Melalui penelitian ini, penulis berusaha membeberkan bagaimana usaha guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember dalam rangka menjaga stabilitas kesehatan mental siswa-siswanya. Guru PAI tak hanya menjalankan kewajibannya sebagai seorang guru saja, melainkan bagaimana ia menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman dalam aktifitas sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni mengungkap peran dan usaha guru PAI SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember dalam menjaga stabilitas kesehatan mental siswa. Merupakan penelitian lapangan, penelitian ini memaparkan hasilnya melalui data yang didapatkan dari observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari peneltian ini menyatakan bahwa guru PAI berperan sebagai mu’allim, murobbi, mursyid, edukator, pelatih, komunikator dan konsultan, serta role model bagi siswanya, sehingga stabilitas kesehatan mental siswa dapat terjaga dengan baik.
