Abstract
ABSTRAK
Keterbatasan lahan mengakibatkan susahnya melakukan penambahan luas
bangunan ke arah horisontal khususnya pada Gedung H FKIP Universitas Jember,
salah satu cara untuk memperluas ruangan pada gedung adalah penambahan lantai
atau pembangunan ke arah vertikal. Sebelum menambah lantai, perlu dilakukan
perkuatan pada struktur primer gedung yaitu kolom. Penelitian ini memperkuat
kolom dengan FRP jenis Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) terhadap
kekuatan pondasi eksisting.
Penelitian ini menggunakan program bantu SAP2000 untuk menganalisis
struktur gedung tersebut. Dari hasil analisis, Gedung H FKIP Universitas Jember
mampu ditambah 1 lantai dengan memperkuat kolom terhadap kekuatan pondasi
eksisting. Setelah diperkuat menggunakan CFRP dengan tebal 1 mm dan 1 lapis,
penambahan kapasitas aksial kolom sebesar 35% dari kapasitas aksial semula.

ABSTRACT
The imited land makes difficult increasing the building area as horizontall,
which is especially in the H Building FKIP, Jember University. One way to
expand the space in the building area is adding the floor or the build in vertical
direction. Before adding the floors, It is important to reinforce the primary
structure of the building that are columns. This research aim to reinforce the
columns with FRP which have type Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (or CFRP)
into strength the existing foundation.
This research used the SAP2000 to analyze the structure of the building.
From the result of analysis can give information that the H Building FKIP, Jember
University was able to add one floor by strength the colomn for the strength of the
existing foundation. After it is reinforcing which used CFRP with a thickness of 1
mm and 1 layer, the axial capacity of the clolumn was increased to 35 % from the
original axial capacity.
