Additionally, running dictation is a learning game where students are divided into several groups to dictate multiple sentences. Each group typically consists of five or more people and includes runners and writers. Listening skills are skills to receive and understand words, sentences or messages that have been conveyed, then convey them, so that the words, sentences or messages can be conveyed and received properly. Every teacher needs a strategy or technique to achieve effective lessons in the teaching-learning process. Therefore, the researcher chose running dictation as a learning technique for this research. The purpose of this study is to test students’ improvement in listening skills through the use of running dictation. To collect the data, the researcher observed students’ activities and administered tests using a Classroom Action Research design, also known as CAR. This study consisted of two cycles, with two meetings in each cycle. In cycle one the material is written announcement and in cycle two the material is spoken/oral announcement. The results after implementing the action in cycle one and cycle two proved that the running dictation technique was able to enhance the listening skills of class XB students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Wuluhan in the academic year 2022/2023. This was proven by the result of observation which improved from 25% and 35% in cycle 1 to 52.3% and 65% in cycle 2. Then, the result of the students’ test mean score which improved from 74.9 in cycle 1 to 87 in cycle 2.
