Indonesia merupakan produsen kakao terbesar ketiga di dunia, sehingga jumlah kulit buah kakao yang dihasilkan sangat melimpah. Pemanfaatan limbah kakao masih kurang yaitu digunakan sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia, bahan sabun, ditimbun disela sela perkebunan, dan didegradasi menggunakan larva BSF yang menghasilkan kasgot dan digunakan untuk pupuk ternak, akan tetapi larva BSF tidak memiliki enzim pendegradasi lignin, sehingga diperlukan proses fermentasi untuk mengurangi kadar serat lignin dan selulosa. Fermentasi dilakukan agar larva BSF lebih mudah dalam mengkonversi limbah sehingga akan berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan larva BSF. Masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengaruh media pakan fermentasi kulit kakao terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan larva BSF. Hal ini dapat dijadikan sebagai kajian sumber belajar biologi terkait pertumbuhan dan perkembangan pada hewan dan bagaimana manfaatnya sebagai sumber belajar biologi SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pakan fermentasi limbah kulit buah kakao terhadap petumbuhan dan perkembangan larva BSF serta mengetahui kelayakan sumber belajar yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pusat penelitian Kopi dan Kakao Indonesia, MA Negeri 2 Jember, dan Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) menggunakan 3 perlakuan yang terdiri dari pemberian pakan limbah kulit buah kakao tanpa fermentasi (F0), fermentasi 7 hari (F7), dan fermentasi 14 hari (F14). Dengan indikator yang akan diamati yaitu 1) panjang, 2) berat, 3) periode waktu perkembangan, 4) tingkat keberhasilan hidup. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik Uji One Way ANOVA uji lanjut dilakukan menggunakan ujitukey pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian dari media pakan limbah kulit kakao tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan larva BSF. Hasil penelitian engembangan yang telah dilakukan, E-LKPD yang akan dikembangkan adalah valid dan layak untuk dijadikan sumber belajar biologi. Triandiyanti, Eka Pinky. 2023. Indonesia is the third largest cocoa producer in the world, so the amount of cocoa pods produced is very abundant. Utilization of cocoa waste is still lacking, namely used as ruminant animal feed, soap ingredients, stockpiled between plantations, and degraded using BSF larvae which produce cassava and used for livestock fertilizer, however BSF larvae do not have lignin degrading enzymes, so a fermentation process is needed to reduce lignin and cellulose fiber content. Fermentation is carried out so that BSF larvae are easier to convert waste so that it will affect the growth and development of BSF larvae. The problem of this research is how the influence of cocoa shell fermented feed media on the growth and development of BSF larvae. This can be used as a study of biology learning resources related to growth and development in animals and how they benefit as a high school biology learning resource. This study aims to determine the effect of feed media fermented cocoa pod waste on the growth and development of BSF larvae and determine the feasibility of the learning resources developed. This research was conducted at the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Center, MA Negeri 2 Jember, and Muhammadiyah University of Jember. This research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) using 3 treatments consisting of feeding cocoa pod waste without fermentation (F0), 7 days of fermentation (F7), and 14 days of fermentation (F14). The indicators to be observed are 1) length, 2) weight, 3) development time period, 4) life success rate. The research results were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA statistical test. Further tests were carried out using the Tukey test at a significant level of 5%. The results of the research on the feed media for cocoa shell waste had no significant effect (p>0.05) on the growth and development of BSF larvae. The results of the development research that has been carried out, the E-LKPD that will be developed is valid and feasible to be used as a biology learning resource
