Abstract

Macrophages and CD8 + T cells are part of the cellular immune system is commonly known to us. The general objective of this study was to prove the effect of cupping to the increase cellular immunity: macrophages and CD8 + T cells. This study classified quasy non random experimental design with pre-post test control group design without test carried out on humans as research subjects. The study was conducted in the region of the Tegal Besar Jember for 8 months on a number of 20 subjects. The data collected by computerized data analysis performed using t-test. The measurement results show the value of the macrophages in the early treatment has a mean of 18.3775, SD 3.32348, the lowest value of 12.14, the highest value of 23.54. While the macrophages at the end of the treatment have a mean of 65.2630, SD 6.42253, the lowest value of 56.58, the highest value of 71.64. Because the p value of 0.000, it can be concluded that the effect of cupping therapy to increase cellular immune cells: macrophages are meaningful. The measurement results obtained values of CD8 + T cells in the early treatment has a mean of 34.5565, 34.5565 SD, the lowest value of 24.65, the highest value of 41.36. Whereas the CD8 + T cells at the end of the treatment have a mean 63.2575, SD 7.40893, the lowest value of 51.26, the highest value of 86.35. Because the p value of 0.000, it can be concluded that the effect of cupping to increase cellular cell immunity: CD8 + T cells was significant. So the removal of blood (blood letting) as in the workings of this cupping, acupuncture points, is proven to maintain and enhance the immune system as well. Immune system in the blood is the responsibility of humoral and cellular systems, in this case macrophages and CD8 + T cells.
