Abstract

This research aims to explain community participation in the formation of the 2024 District Election Committee (PPK) in Bondowoso Regency, as well as the factors inhibiting and supporting community participation in the process of forming the District Election Committee (PPK). This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research results show that the active participation of the community in the elections in Bondowoso Regency, reflected in the statistical increase in PPK applicants which is three times more in 2023, shows its integrality in the democratic process, in line with the views of the Chairman of the KPU and members of the KPU Commissioners, as well as the importance of education and understanding people's voting rights in determining political direction and leaders for the next five years. The factors inhibiting community participation can be seen from the low level of education in the community, and also the low level of community awareness. The supporting factors for community participation can be seen from the nominal salary given and also the community's needs for livelihood.
