Key Words: English Subtitle, Listening Comprehension, English Education Listening is a key component of verbal communication, which is an interactive process when a person uses both verbal and nonverbal cues to assume the roles of speaker and listener. Unfortunately, listening skill learning gets less attention when compared to the other three skills. These days there are various ways, methods, and also media for learning listening skills. Types of media that we for the most part recognize on learning listening skills are audio-only media and audio-visual media. In audio-visual media specifically, it can be found on video and television. Sometimes there are subtitles in audio visual media. Subtitle itself is captions displayed at the bottom of a movie or television screen that translate or transcribe the dialogue or narrative. In this research, the problem is “do English subtitles in English videos significantly affect in listening comprehension of English Education students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember?” and the objective of the research referring to the problem is to find out the effect of English subtitles in English videos in listening comprehension of English Education students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Based on research problem and the relevant theory, the hypothesis of this research is described as follows: The presence of English subtitles in English videos has a statistically significant impact on the listening skills of English Education students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. The design of this research is pre-experimental research in the form One-Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research subject is 4th semester students of English Education. The data collected using the test method. There are two kinds of questions which are multiple choice questions and short explanation questions. In order to analyse the data, statistical analysis is determined using SPSS software. Each respondent took a pre-test and post-test. After undergoing the test, the average post-test score was 46.00, which was higher than the average pre-test score (32.75). Meanwhile, according to the results of the Paired Sample T-test, a value of 0.000 was obtained, smaller than the sig. value of 0.05. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the presence of English subtitles in English videos has a statistically significant impact on the listening skills of English Education students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember.
