Abstract
Based on Article 28 Paragraph (1) Sub-Paragraph D of the 1945 Constitution of the State of the Republic of Indonesia, Article 51 Sub-Article b of Law Number 8 Year 1981 which is popularly referred to as KUHAP and Article 177 Paragraph (1) KUHAP. any person who is a suspect or defendant who can not or does not understand Indonesian is entitled to an Interpreter. According to Judge of Jember State Court Slamet Budiono Judge's consideration in determining the Language Teacher in examination of criminal cases is as follows: 1. fluent and skilled in speaking and able to translate various languages into the Indonesian language properly and correctly and must be faithful to the source 2. has fulfilled several procedures from the courts 3. has obtained a Decision from the Court as a guide of the Language in the criminal investigation 4. Spokesperson shall be sworn in first when appointed to be a Language Spokesperson in criminal investigation. According to Jember District Court Judge Slamet Budiono the role of Interpreters in the criminal case investigation is a bridge between law-abiding people and the courts in conducting criminal investigations, because Indonesia has a diverse regional language then the role of Interpreters is to facilitate or help the walk examination of criminal cases. the judge's judgment in determining the Interpreter should be sworn in beforehand and must be appointed by the Chief Judge of the trial. the role of the Interpreter is to translate the language into another language.
