Abstract

Ministry of public works is the element of performing regional autonomy at area talks shop common
that cover road and bridge building development. In this case, writer choose road development as an
object in making of geographical information system in order to give SIG'S implementation to facilitate the
duty of PU in monitoring the road building development visually.
Mapping is alternatively giving information about the process of measurement, counts and
delineations at 3 districts territorial which have already determined. use polygonal form to each damages
road.
The implementation of digital cartography in developing roads in Jember, geographic information
system are developed to designing graphic (spatial) with the object of data text (attribute) which are
connected geographically. And doing analysis data for making decision about some problem engage to
geographic.
The result of this geographic information system is a desktop geographic information system by using
Visual Basic 6.0 and MySql for managing its basic data. By use of this application system, PU can also
monitor the development of the roads visually, especially in this Jember area.
