Speaking is one of the important skill for students to have and it cannot be neglected because it plays an important role in communication.However,many student difficult to express their idea in speaking.They tend to be passive and feel nervous when they are talking in front of the class.Picture series especially narrative is one of the ways that can motivating student to participate actively in speaking activity.
This study used a qualitative method.The research subject is English teacher at SMP Al Ikhwaniyah.The data of the study were observation,interview and document review.The instrument used was interview guide.
Based on the research result,it can be conclue that there were three stages in implementing picture series in teaching narrative including planning,implementing and evaluation.Planning English learning using picture series in teaching speaking narrative speaking in eighth-grade teacher requires the teacher to first develop a concept in the lesson plan (Modul Ajar).In implementation using picture series in teaching narrative speaking in eight-grade,the teacher shows prepared pictures to be narrated in Indonesian, then translated into English.Afterward,students come forward one by one to retell the picture the teacher has posted on the board without any text.The first is cognitive,affective assesment and the last is psychomotor.
