Abstract

Introduction: Introduction: Pneumonia is an acute infection that attacks lung tissue, especially the alveoli, due to various microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms. One symptom that is often overlooked but has a significant impact on patients is acute pain. Techniques to relieve pain by using pain management techniques, one of which is the deep breathing relaxation technique or Deep Breathing Exercise. Method: This research design uses a case study that explores the problem of nursing care for clients suffering from pneumonia at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember, the intervention was carried out for 3 days by providing the Deep Breathing Exercise Technique. Results: Analysis of the intervention providing the Deep Breathing Exercise Technique was proven to reduce pain intensity in 3 pneumonia patients where the pain intensity of the three patients was reduced with a pain scale of 2-3. Conclusion: After explaining the nursing process to 3 patients, the conclusion is that the patient experienced a decrease in pain intensity when given the intervention carried out by the researcher.
