Abstract

Reog Ponorogo merupakan salah satu warisan budaya yang di miliki Indonesia berupa tari yang berasal dari salah satu Kabupaten yang ada di Indonesia yaitu Kabupaten Ponorogo. Tari ini tidak hanya memiliki nilai seni yang luar biasa, tetapi juga menyimpan makna yang mendalam yang berkaitan dengan tradisi dan cerita masyarakat. Jadi, Reog itu sendiri memiliki banyak versi asal usul yang beredar di Masyarakat seperti asal usul Reog versi Bantarangin, asal usul Reog versi Raden Bathara Katong, dan asal usul Reog versi Raja Brawijaya V. Reog Ponrogo juga sudah dikenal dan berkembang di beberapa daerah di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui makna gerak tari dan makna busana yang terkandung didalam Kesenian Reog Ponorogo, khusunya Tari Dadhak Merak dan Tari Jathil. Penelitian ini mengguanakan metode penelitian kualitatif dimana hasil penelitian berupa narasi kata yang disimpulkan sesuai dengan topik penelitian yang ada. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teori interaksi simbolik verbal dan non- verbal guna untuk mencari makna yang terkandung dalam Kesenian Reog Ponorogo. Penelitian ini mendapat hasil akhir berupa makna pada tari Jathil merupakan penggambaran pasukan berkuda, sedangkan pada tari dadhak merak merupakan penggambaran hewan harimau. Disamping itu juga ada kendala yang dihadapi pada saat mencari makna yang terdapat dalam Kesenian Reog Ponorogo.

Reog Ponorogo is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages in the form of a dance originating from one of the regencies in Indonesia, namely Ponorogo Regency. This dance not only has extraordinary artistic value, but also holds deep meanings related to the traditions and stories of the community. So, Reog itself has many versions of origins circulating in the community such as the origin of Reog Bantarangin version, the origin of Reog Raden Bathara Katong version, and the origin of Reog King Brawijaya V version. Reog Ponrogo is also known and developed in several regions in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of dance movements and the meaning of clothing contained in the Reog Ponorogo Art, especially the Dadhak Merak Dance and Jathil Dance. This study uses a qualitative research method where the results of the study are in the form of narrative words that are concluded according to the existing research topic. This study uses the theory of verbal and non-verbal symbolic interaction in order to find the meaning contained in the Reog Ponorogo Art. This research got the final result in the form of meaning in the Jathil dance is a depiction of cavalry, while in the Dadhak Merak dance is a depiction of a tiger. In addition, there are also obstacles faced when searching for the meaning contained in the Reog Ponorogo Art.
