Abstract

In beginning to write, students often feel confused in finding ideas. Therefore, an innovative media is required to help student in generating ideas before they start to write. This research aims to find out how can Answer Garden Application improve X-B students’ ability to write an analytical exposition text in generating ideas at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember. Researcher used classroom action research (CAR) that consist of 2 cycles. Each cycle included planning, action, observation, and reflection. If the first cycle still found several problems, it is necessary to do a second cycle followed by applying new rules but with a similar concept like the first cycle. The average score of Cycle I is 68.3, several factors that cause such as students still confused, they do not fully understand the instruction, and some distraction happened. The average score of Cycle II is 82, which mean the problems are solved. It shows that there was an improvement in students' ability to write Analytical exposition text using the Answer Garden. The improvement of students writing ability can be seen from the average class score that increased from 68.3 to 83. Thus, it can be concluded that the Answer Garden application can improve students' ability to write text Analytical exposition.
