Abstract
In SNI 2847: 2013, the maximum reinforcement limitation requirement is no longer a constant matter, but it depends on the type of reinforcing steel quality used in the design, because the tensile strength of the tensile reinforcement steel ε_t ^ o in the conditions of the nominal flexural strength must be greater or equal to 0.005. In SNI 2847: 2013, the reduction factor value ∅ is determined based on the tensile strain value in the outermost fiber that occurs, ε_t ^ o (Net Tensiile Strain, NTS). It can be explained that the value of ∅ is distinguished by the time of the compression controlled section, the tension controlled section and the transition area. If ε_t ^ o≤ε_y then the cross section is said to be pressure controlled and the value of ∅ = 0.65, when ε_y <ε_t ^ o <ε_t then the section is in a transition state and the value of Ø = 0.65 + (εt- (ε_t) ̅) (250 / [(0.005- (ε_t) ̅) × 100]}, and when ε_t ^ o≥ε_t the cross section is said to be tension controlled, the value of ∅ = 0.9, with ε_t = 0.005.
