In the era of digital learning, YouTube has become a widely used platform that provides accessible, engaging, and authentic English-language content. This study investigates how YouTube videos influence senior high school students English listening comprehension, focusing on the learners own perceptions.
A quantitative descriptive method was employed, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The instrument consist of Likert-scale items measuring the frequency of YouTube usage, preferred types of content and the perceived impact on students listening comprehension. The respondents were purposively selected from English language classes and the questionnaire was validated by experts and pilot-tested to ensure its reliability and clarity
The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage and mean scores, through manual tabulation. The findings revealed that the majority of students perceived YouTube videos, especially those equipped with subtitles and visual cues as effective tools for improving listening comprehension. Moreover, students reported higher levels of motivation and engagement when exposed to both educational and entertaining content

The results highlight the pedagogical potential of integrating curated YouTube materials into English instruction. Purposeful use of digital media can effectively supplement traditional listening activities and promote a more interactive learning experience. This study provides valuable insights for teachers, learners, and curriculum designers aiming to enhance language learning in technologically enriched environments.
