Abstract
Background:Anemia is a condition where the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin is less than normal (12g/dl). Anemia is still common, especially in adolescents, and this is still a major and worrying public health problem. Anemia is frequently associated with poor developmental health outcomes, including neonatal and perinatal mortality, low birth weight, premature birth, and delayed child growth and development. The rapid growth of teenagers means that nutritional needs also increase. One of them is the need for iron. Iron deficiency is considered the most common cause of anemia globally. This study aims to determine the relationship related to nutritional consumption behavior and also iron and folic acid supplement in adolescents. Method: The research design was observational analytics with a cross sectional study method., the sampling technique in this research used simple random sampling, with a total sample of 92 young women. This research instrument used a questionnaire and document study of the Hb examination results. Data analysis used Spearman Rho. Results: The research results showed that 2 respondents suffered from severe anemia, 26 respondents with moderate anemia and 37 respondents with mild anemia. There was a significant p value of 0.000 < (= 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.501 and 0.457 which are included in the strong and moderate categories. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between nutritional consumption behavior, blood supplement consumption behavior and the incidence of anemia.
