Abstract
Abstract Surgery is an experience that is feared by almost everyone. The effects of surgery are can cause anxiety. Many things are worried about, including when a family member is sick and has to receive intensive care due to surgical procedures. Post surgery patient family have different levels of anxiety and one of them can be reduced by providing spiritual support. This study use a pre-experiment research design with a one group pre-post test approach. The population in this study were the families of postoperative patients in the neurosurgery room at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember with 30 respondents as a sample where the sample taken by purposive sampling. The results of this study from 30 respondents with anxiety levels before the intervention were not anxious (10.0%), mild anxiety (33.3%), moderate anxiety (43.3%), severe anxiety (13.3%). After the intervention there was no anxiety (86.7%), mild anxiety (6.7%), and moderate anxiety (6.7%). The results of Wilcoxon statistical test with (α <0.05) obtained p value = 0.001, means that there is an effect of Spiritual Support on Anxiety Levels in Post-Operation Patients Family in the Neurosurgery Room RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. It is recommended expected hospital can complement islamic services which have existed by providing leaflet, book pray’s when brought home intervention to family can be upgraded to spiritual support as a superior product in RSD dr Soebandi Jember.
