Kata Kunci: Kurang Percaya Diri, Faktor Kurang Percaya Diri, dan Upaya Guru Kurang percaya diri adalah perasaan diri tidak mampu dan mengaggap orang lain lebih baik dari dirinya. Orang yang merasa minder cenderung bersikap egosentris, memposisikan diri sebagai korban, merasa tidak puas terhadap dirinya, mengasihani diri sendiri, mudah menyerah dan mengaggap dirinya tidak mempunyai kemampuan yang berarti. Permasalahan yang muncul dari latar belakang adalah faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kurang percaya diri dan bagaimana upaya guru dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas VII di SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tanggul. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mengindentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kurang percaya diri pada siswa dan upaya guru dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sasaran pada penelitian ini adalah faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kurang percaya diri siswa. Tempat penelitian ini berada di SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tanggul. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawancara, data angket siswa, dokumentasi. Instrumen dalam penelitian adalah instrument penunjang yang dimaksud berupa lembar wawancara yang sudah diperoleh oleh peneliti. Teknik analisis data yaitu perencanaan, pengumpulan data, mendiskripsikan, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kurang percaya diri dan upaya guru dalam meningkatkan rasa kurang percaya diri siswa kelas VII dengan cara memupuk keberanian untuk bertanya, peran aktif guru bertanya kepada siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, keseimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa faktor-faktor percaya diri dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal diantaranya konsep diri, harga diri, pengalaman, dan pendidikan. Sedangkan upaya yang guru lakukan di kelas VII untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa yaitu guru memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk bertanya, cara tersebut dapat meningkatkan keberanian siswa dalam bertanya terutama bagi siswa yang pasif di kelas, guru membimbing siswa yang belum paham dengan materi yang disampaikan guru dalam pembelajaran secara pribadi. Keywords: Lack of Confidence, Lack of Confidence Factors, and Teacher Efforts Lack of self-confidence is a feeling of being inadequate and perceiving other people as better than him. People who feel inferior tend to be egocentric, position themselves as victims, feel dissatisfied with themselves, feel sorry for themselves, easily give up and think that they do not have any significant abilities. The problems that arise from the background are what factors affect the lack of self-confidence and how the teacher's efforts to increase the confidence of grade VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tanggul. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that affect the lack of confidence in students and the efforts of teachers to increase student self-confidence. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The targets of this study are factors that affect students' lack of confidence. The place of this research is at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tanggul. Data collection techniques are interviews, student questionnaire data, documentation. The instrument in this research is a supporting instrument in the form of an interview sheet that has been obtained by the researcher. Data analysis techniques, namely planning, collecting data, describing, analyzing and concluding. The results of the data analysis show the factors that influence the lack of self-confidence and the efforts of the teacher to increase the seventh grade students' lack of self-confidence by fostering the courage to ask questions, the active role of the teacher asking students. Based on these results, the conclusion of this study is that the factors of self-confidence can be influenced by several things including self-concept, self-esteem, experience, and education. While the efforts made by the teacher in class VII to increase student self-confidence, namely the teacher providing opportunities for students to ask questions, this method can increase students' courage in asking, especially for students who are passive in class, the teacher guides students who do not understand the material presented by the teacher in personal learning.
