Abstract
Self consept is individual perspective about himself include their values. Academic achievement is the result they achieved by a person in mastering knowledge and skill developed in a lesson, usually indicated by a score given by the teacher. A better learning effort will improve the achievement . This study aimto determine the correlation between self consept and academic achievemend of karate athlete. It is a correlation study with cross sectional approach. The population were 112 athletes in Bondowoso. There were 88 respondents taken by cluster sampling taking a part in this study. The data collected by using Tennesse Self Consept Scale and score achieved by respondent for the last semester in their study. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate tests. The results showed that the karate athletes in Bonsowoso Regency all showed a positive self-concept (100%), where 93% showed good academic achievement and 7% showed excellent academic achievement. And it is known that there is a relationship between self-concept and academic achievement with a p value of 0.023 with an r coefficient of 0.243 having a weak relationship between two variables. The average self-concept of karate athletes in Bondowoso Regency is 100%. The average academic achievement of karate athletes in Bondowoso Regency is 93%.
